Exclusive Use Self-Catering Accommodation

Mtwazi Lodge, (the ex-Warden of Hluhluwe's home) is an exclusive use 8 bed venue within the fenced perimeter of Hilltop Camp in the Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park and
set in its own grounds, garden and lawns.

The main Mtwazi Lodge, is a brick under thatch structure, has three bedrooms each en suite with full bathrooms. There is an annexe adjacent to the main building, a squaredavel, this has 2 single beds and the en suite bathroom has a shower, toilet and handbasin.

Mtwazi Lodge is fully equipped as a self catering venue. The kitchen has stove, fridge freezer and basic utensils, all cutlery and crockery. The bedrooms are supplied with linen and bath towels.

Guests may dine at the Hilltop Camp Restaurant and book guided game drives in open game drive vehicles. Alternatively one drives oneself on the public road network.

Conservation levy is payable at Hilltop Camp reception. You will need to present your booking reservation reference number at the entrance gate to the Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park. An exit permit will be issued at Hilltop Camp reception on departure, you will need to show this at the gate on exiting. Most Credit cards are accepted at Hilltop Camp.

There is a pic-nic site at Mapumulo and Siwasamakosikasi both with toilet facility. There is also a toilet at the Memorial Gate. The Centenary Centre, nearer to the uMfolozi Game Reserve, has a take-away, the Rhino Capture interpretation centre, Capture Bomas as well as toilets. There are craft markets at the Centenary Centre as well as at the Memorial Gate.

Guests wanting to visit the uMfolozi sector of the Park may do so – be aware of the distance and timing as guests may not drive themselves in the park after the gate closing times.
